Two Weddings and a Funeral

Planning Dad’s funeral was the hardest thing that our family had ever done. Sure, we haven’t been wealthy have struggled financially, but losing him was hard on us all. At the funeral, Mom also announced that I would become heir. I was shocked to say the least. I was the insane child with the different father, and didn’t expect to be honored with this reward. I promised her that I would make her proud. Amara and Aloe didn’t seem to mind the announcement. The night was hard enough without fussing.

Aloe took the death of Dad very hard. He was mad at Dad for leaving us so soon. It was a sudden death, without warning.

We all took turns comforting, poor Aloe that night.

Amara’s career in music took off and soon she was playing for tips in Central Park. Her and Rain were getting closer by the day, and I anticipated a proposal in the near future.

It didn’t take long at all for my prediction to come true. I knew she wouldn’t refuse the offer. The wedding planning began that day. We were marrying brothers, just like we always said we would.

When Amara started getting sick, we blamed it on the approaching wedding. I figured that her and Rain would wait for marriage before their first woohoo, so I didn’t think about her being pregnant. My wonderful fiancĂ©e, Dosey, had started med school and he done an exam after the sickness got worse. She was in fact pregnant. She refused to get married while pregnant, so the wedding was put off until after the birth of their first child.

Pregnancy didn’t stop the dream of becoming a famous musician for Amara. She continued playing throughout her pregnancy. Rain moved in with us and brought in enough cash to do some more work on the house. Soon our dream house will be complete.

Dosey may have been on his way to becoming a doctor, but he was more of an inspiring author. He spent countless hours at the library writing his first drama. I was annoyed for a while because he was always there. Of course, I thought he was cheating and followed him and found him exactly where he said he was. I felt horrible. He said he understood my accusations and wasn’t mad at me.

Aloe’s birthday rolled around and he became an adult. Instead of going to work, he went to art school. He is an amazing artist and plans on mastering the photographing skill and the painting skill.

Right on time, Amara woke up in labor. She gave birth to a handsome little boy and named him Basil. Now, there was weddings to celebrate.

The decorations turned out beautifully for Amara and Rain’s wedding.

As the maid of honor, I took the stage first. The guys had already come out.

As Amara made her presence, the crowd gasped. They were in awe of her striking beauty. As she walked down the aisle, I was overwhelmed with jealousy. I only hoped I was half as beautiful as my little sister.

The wedding went without a hitch.

The happy couple went to bed that night and celebrated the beginning of their lives together.

A few months later their celebration turned into another baby on the way. While Amara was puking up her guts, I was putting on my wedding dress. It was time for our special day.

Dosey stared at me as I walked toward him. My poor sister was having a hard time not vomiting all over the decorations. Pregnancy wasn’t good to her.

I knew I had picked out the perfect dress, when I saw my soon-to-be husband’s face. I couldn’t deny that he loved me.

We pledged our lives to each other that beautiful day as the sun set on the beach.

Amara, Rain, and little Basil moved out that night. Rain had built them a beautiful house. I was content with their leaving, because I knew I would see them again very soon.

  1. Great new chapter, Kayla! First off, I love your new banner at the top of the site; it’s gorgeous! I can’t wait to see the third generation brought in. :D

All of your legacy blogging has got me wanting to start a legacy. I’ll let you know if/when I do, and hopefully you can follow the story. :)

PS-I edited this chapter, of course, but there were only a couple minor changes I had to make. Your writing is definitely improving in that aspect (not that it was really bad before!). Keep up the good work!
