Generation 3 is Here

It seemed like we all were finally getting back to normal after the death of Dad when Mom came down with something awful. Dosey checked her out at home, but made her to go the hospital. She was diagnosed with pneumonia and was sent back home on strict orders to stay in bed. She was 93 and Dosey told us she may not make it through. She died early one Saturday morning. She had started feeling better and wanted to cook us a meal and she died in the kitchen. I took her death a lot harder than Dad’s. Aloe called Amara while I got the house ready for a funeral.

Aloe and I held each other until Amara arrived. It was so hard on us, losing our parents so close together.

Amara was eight months pregnant when Mom died. She was huge and the emotions made her feel miserable. She held it together long enough to comfort me, but she too broke down crying as well. That day was probably the hardest day of my life.

Not long after Mom’s death, I found out Dosey and I were expecting our first child. I had no sickness, unlike my poor sister. I just noticed I was getting too big for my clothes. Dosey reminded me that I hadn’t had my cycle in 3 months, which we had been blamingĀ  on Mom’s death. Ready or not, I was pregnant, and already four months along. The science lab agreed to hold my job for as long as I needed to be off. I spent most of my pregnancy gardening.

I visited with Amara and her children almost daily. Basil had turned 2 years old, but was as bald as I was at birth.

Amara gave birth to another little boy around the time I found I was pregnant. They named him Levi. He looked exactly like Rain and his grandmother. Amara needed a lot of help with the boys, so I was there when I went into labor with my first child.

My little boy was born exactly 9 months to the day that Mom died. Little Bramble Rubus Bow is our little miracle. He is excitable and easily impressed. Dosey was very proud to have a son. I just know that him and Rain will be taking the three boys to ball games and fishing.

While on my way to take Bramble to his first visit with Amara’s boys I saw two young girls moving into a house right next to ours. Later that evening Aloe told me about them. One’s name was Kayla Sim and the other was Berry Pie. He went on for ages about how beautiful Berry was. They even had a date at Candy Cane Pier the very next day.

I had been going to see my doctor, taking my medications, and hadn’t had an episode in years. While riding in the taxi I had the urge to vomit, but then everything just went black. I don’t remember anything. Apparently, I got out of the taxi, put Bramble on the sidewalk, and was freaking out.

Luckily, my “blackout” occurred right outside the hospital, and Dosey was returning from a run with the ambulance and spotted me. He told me I was going on about someone trying to steal the baby.

While trying to take Bramble and I back to the hospital, I managed to take off my clothes, insisting that I was going swimming. They had to give me a shot of Haldol and I spent the night on the pysch ward. If it wasn’t for Dosey, anything could have happened to Bramble or I.

Aloe had to take Bramble and I to Amara’s each day, and Dosey picked us up on his way home from work. It was too risky for me to go anywhere alone until they were able to determine why I had that episode. I spend the next weeks with Amara. I played lots of games with my nephews. Levi had recently turned 2 and Basil was about to start kindergarten.

Not long after Levi’s birthday it was time for Bramble’s birthday. We threw a party and I invited Aloe’s new friend Berry Pie. I wanted to meet this girl.

When I finally met Berry, she was a very timid person. She also was very neurotic and was obsessed with martial arts. I knew she would be a perfect match for my sweet, caring, sensitive brother.

My little boy looked just like his father, and I was proud to have the honor of being this child’s mother.

I was getting older, almost 37 and I knew I needed to hurry up and have another child before it was too late, and Dosey agreed. I just hoped I wouldn’t have another episode. While pregnant I had to stop all my medications to prevent them from harming the child.

Aloe and Berry were getting more serious by the day. He also confided in me that he wanted to marry her. He wasn’t sure how or when to ask, so he did some research to find out exactly how his dad had proposed to his mom.

In the meantime, Aloe and Berry found ways to keep themselves occupied, and I was glad to be at Amara’s house on these certain days.

It didn’t take me long to become pregnant again. I was never sick, just like my first pregnancy. Dosey confirmed the pregnancy and I went to my psychiatrist to let him know. He weaned me off my medications again. I was again on house watch by Amara. Basil had started kindergarten and Levi and Bramble loved playing together.

Berry moved in with us after Aloe told us she was pregnant. Unlike me, she was very sick during her pregnancy and had to be put in the hospital numerous times.

One night, I heard squealing in the bathroom and I knew what had happened. Aloe had proposed to Berry just like Dad proposed to Mom. Right over the toilet….
